The food was great but our waiter wasn't
La Sandia is a delicious Texas mex style restaurant located near the Barnes and Noble at Tyson's Corner Center. The salsa is a smoky salsa, much like Uncle Julio's. The tableside guacamole was delicious as were our meals. The service was quick and friendly.
The food was good not so great but rather edible! Was looking for hard shell Tacos🌮🌮
At Tysons Mall with some friends on our way into DC this place caught our eyes as soon as we started thinking about a meal. Full service bar with delicious house cocktails (I tried 3, pleasantly surprised with all of them) and some excellent tapas-style plates and full entrees. Service from our bartender was prompt personable & friendly, decor and overall restaurant experience was a score. Great place to stop if you're looking for some good authentic food. I will be back
This place is awesome. I get either the chipotle chicken or steak quesadillas everytime.
Sat at the bar during happy hour on a Tuesday which was a great value. $6 margaritas, $2 tacos, and free chips and salsa. You could easily fill up and drink up for $20! Staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice. I would definitely recommend checking it out.
The service and margaritas weren't the best at all. The sangria drink was tasty, though. I don't think I'll go back. The waiter was rather slow and showed up at 6:31 to check for more drinks and refused to give happy hour prices. The drink tasted like it was from a mix and not shaken.
It was a mixed bag. The server seemed to be having a bad night. She left our table without taking my husband’s order tho she turned around quickly once we called her back. The food was good- except for the guacamole. I’ve never had lettuce MIXED IN with the guacamole. I won’t go back just because of that.
First let me get this out of the way, the staff here is great, respectful, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and it has a good atmosphere. The food however, is a different story. The carne asada was a bit pitiful, the meat itself was cooked well but it was served with a sorry excuse for a sweet corn tamale and what felt like a spoonful of sauted peppers and onions and topped with something they claimed was chimichurri the dish is not worth the price. the kids "bean burrito" is a joke, it should be called tortilla with beans or a deconstructed burrito, it is a tortilla filled with nothing but beans and the rice and a green goop reminiscent of guacamole served on the side of even more beans (??). The one thing that was actually quite good was the burger but that is not really what you think of when you think mexican food. The chicken taquitos were not bad but were nothing special. Overall, I don't think I will be visiting this place again.
The Guacamole is great. Made at your table absolutely fresh. Served with their own tortilla chips.
Food is delicious! The bartenders are super knowledgeable and communicative. Loved the service overall. And the managers are very nice and attentive. Would recommend it by all means. Five stars are not enough!!!!!
Excellent service and delicious food. Hostesses were able to accommodate us next to an outlet to charge my phone. Our server provided exquisite service, even going extra. Highly recommended
Quick tasty Mexican food at an okay price.
Great food and wait staff is very attentive. I'd definitely go back.
While doing some Christmas shopping we ran in to this delicious Mexican restaurant. The name really called my attention. Food drinks and service were just perfect. Well be back!!
Always a great experience with Darius and Krystle. Try the Watermelon infused Margarita and the Frozen Strawberry Margarita (pictured below). Make sure you get the Flan
I have had lunch at La Sandia multiple times and the experience is always excellent. I highly recommend the margaritas, guacamole, freshly baked chips and their chicken taco lettuce wraps. The atmosphere is authentic and the service is great!
Great, tasty food. A little expensive, but not too much.
I reserved my table few hours in the same day and it was excellent. The customer service was excellent. The chips and salsa were great as I waited for a friend. The food presentation was nice, I ordered the beef taco platter. I definitely recommend using the online reservation system since it can be quite busy on Saturday nights.
It's more like a 3.5 star. The restaurant is located inside the Tyson's corner mall so expect the prices to be on a higher side.We had a Table side guacamole which was good, the chips were ok but the salsa could have been more spicy.Veggie Fajita was Ok and veggie burrito was good. The margaritas were good too.The ambience was modern and nice.Service was good.It was around 80$(including taxes and tip).I wouldn't go here very often as there are many other Mexican restaurants in the area serving better food for lesser price.
Ordered fajitas they were the worst ever only enough steak for one 6 pieces. Beer was hot, braised beef so tough couldn't chew terriable... . Picture on right is there garbage picture on left is real food. Which would you choose for 20. never eat there good reviews must be from employees are they were paid for.
Great place to go for happy hours! Margaritas are delicious
I had to force myself to eat here, my mother threw up the tacos she ordered and when we tried the salsa our whole table had this look of disguest on their faces, but their water was ok. This is by far the worst Mexican food I've every had...
Went for happy hour with group of colleagues. Drinks came very slow but were at least strong. Had some appetizers including the nachos which were my favorite. Not a bad place for happy hour food and drink, just order quickly. It took about 20 minutes for drinks to come out.
The food was excellent, very delicious and authentic. I tried the hanger steak tacos, chicken tinga, Kids chicken tacos, guacamole and the fried plantains. I don’t give full 5 stars because the service was a little off, other than that I would recommend this place and I will comeback.
Harmando was a great waiter. The food was amazing. I recommend the veggie tacos wrapped in lettuce!
This is very good mexican food. The Marghertias are excellent. Try the fish tacos or beef burritos with the spicy guacamole dip to start.
The food is pretty good, but the drinks are a little small for the high price tag. If you can get there during Happy Hour, that's ideal.
Thank you to the La Sandia team. I had a large group for a party that was scheduled smack dab in the middle of the pandemic and had to be rescheduled. They were always responsive and flexible in working with me. The night of the event went smooth and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. If you are looking to host a party here I would highly recommend it. Thank you again.
wow.very bad customer services, our waitress Roxanne was very rude, poor service she had an attitude and took 30 minutes to bring the creamer & sugars to our table & of course, our coffee got cold!! And the coffee didn’t taste freshly made at all. And the restaurant wasn’t full. Not at any moment did she come to our table when the food was brought to the table to ask us if everything is good. We felt like we were being an inconvience to her, I understand nobody has to smile at no one but there was a table next to us who we noticed she treated way better she was more smiley and we kept asking her to come to our table and she just kept ignoring us. Paying more attention to the table next to us who we imagine were family or family or friends of one of the employees. We wouldn’t have left anything if it was up to us cuz she didnt deserve it .
great food however La Sandia margarita was a bit watery
I have been going to La Sandia on and off since they opened at Tysons, and after my visit. Today I will probably not return. Since my last visit they have clearly changed the preparation of food, on providing more cheap fillers than actual meat. The complimentary salsa provided with chips was watery and packed an remote concept of heat or spice. The carnitas were fatty and unappealing. There were more bell peppers and onion than beef or chicken with the fajitas.Service was equally lack luster. Staff stoodnhuddled in a corner chit chatting, only coming g to the table after vigorous attempts to gain attention. Water was only refilled when we held up a cut that had been empty most of the meal. Only after who was presumably the manager started wandering the restaurant did the staff disperse and "work".Between lack luster service and dismal food, we will not be returning.
Great happy hour spot. Tasty food and reasonable prices. Infused house margarita' s are exceptional. I have not tried it for dinner yet, but I will definitely be back for more.
Excellent authentic dishes. Great atmosphere.
Great food, but their guacamole is what always brings me back.
Food was great, they were accommodating of our party of 9, but the service was a bit slow and the music too loud to be able to hear each other.
Excellent food. Loved the fresh tacos n Avocado. Churros for dessert was super fresh n delicious. Highly recommend this place.
This is a great place to visit and It has ample of space to sit. The food is really good here and my personal favorite is the mexican tortilla soup which is really tasty. Should surely give this place a try. It has happy hour from 7pm to 9pm. Everyday except Saturdays. The customer service is really good.
Came in with my wife over the weekend to get some drinks and food during a long shopping day. Very pleased with the drinks and the service. Our waiter was attentive, everything came out fairly fast even though they seemed pretty busy. Great happy hour with a wide selection of margaritas for every taste. The happy hour sampler is great to share and the guacamole is perhaps the best I’ve had in the area. This will definitely be my stop next shopping trip!
One of the best happy hour spots in the Tysons area 4pm to 9pm, yes until 9pm Sunday through Friday. Included food and drinks, see pic for more detail. Great service and delicious food. You cannot go wrong.
Nice happy hour stop in the mall, try the house infused margaritas ...
Food was amazing. Good variety of tequilla and drinks are made withis real fruit.
I’m so full. My tummy hurts. They give good sized proportions
I love going here. The folks are warm, friendly and helpful. I order soft taco with veggies and enjoyed every bit of it. My colleagues ordered other items and everyone loved it too.The fresh guac (made at the table) is simply fantastic - a must try.
FantasticGreat innovative fresh Mexican. Reviewers who don't like probably are expecting cheesy Tex-Mex.
Stopped in on a whim and I'm so glad I did. I got the Appetizer Sampler as my meal ($18) and I couldn't even finish it. It was all so good, especially the taquitos and the wings. Excellent service that you would expect at an upscale place like this. The restaurant has a new fan.
the salsa and chips were great.
Food was amazing, I like the presentation and taste, I was on little rush and they were attentive, they have a plenty of space, for sure a place to return.
Had happy hour here. Nice finger foods and drinks. Decently decorated.
The first time I came here, we split an appetizer sampler and it was amazing. I was so eager to come back to find out that they changed the menu. The new appetizer sampler was not as good. The chicken enchiladas and wings were dried out. I got the watermelon margarita which is very good though.
